I’ve always found that making an attempt to speak and understand someone in their own language goes a long way. People just simply appreciate the effort.
Having staffers who are fluent in other languages is a huge advantage for any company, but especially us at Instabill. We are, after all, a global merchant services provider. So we’re taking advantage of it, with our offering of co-branded landing pages in different languages for our international partner program.
We would love to say it was our idea, but full credit goes to our partner, Anthony Manzilla, CEO of PagoVision, a merchant services provider to the Mexican, Central and South American markets. After signing a reseller agreement with Instabill less than a year ago, he asked for a co-branded landing page in Spanish, hence his target market. It was an ‘a-ha’ moment.
It was a terrific idea. But with our outdated content management system (CMS) at the time, our co-branded landing pages were, shall we say, one page fits all. We kept Mr. Manzilla’s idea on file because we felt strongly that it was something we should offer.
Now we do. Our new website allows for fast, custom co-branded landing pages for our International Partner Program members.
The key to cultivating an international partner program is simple: Listen to the partner’s needs, and do your best to make them happen. Some partners are easier than others, but at the end of the day, we’re after the same thing: processing credit card transactions.
We had an Instabill staffer translate our co-branded partner page to Spanish, then asked Mr. Manzilla to translate further to ensure the proper dialect was right for his network of merchants. It took lots of cutting and pasting and several revisions to get it done, but certainly well worth it. We’re excited to see the fruits of our labor.
Along with our new co-branded landing page in Spanish, we’re hoping pages in French and Arabic are close behind. But we won’t stop there – we are certainly open to other languages and we’ll do our best to find a way to get it done.
